Joy Yvonne Vollrath Welch

A visitation will be held at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home, Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Walker Memory Gardens, at 2 p.m., with Kilgore-Green Funeral Home directing.

Joy lived a life that honored her name, bringing sincere joy and sweetness to every life she touched. She enjoyed her work, devoting 38 years of service to Byars Insurance of Jasper, making life long friends and enriching the lives of all who knew her through her tremendous generosity, infectious laughter, and uplifting spirit. Following retirement, Joy fervently sought a deeper relationship with Christ through the study of His Word and fulfilling His legacy of unconditional love. She was an exemplary mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Joy is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Donald Welch and her parents, Herman David Vollrath, Jr and Carolyn Vollrath.

Joy is survived by her son, Brad (Lisa) Welch of Jasper and their children, Jillian and Selah, her son, David (Kathryn) Welch of Birmingham and his children, Stella and Max, her sister, Vicki Dyer and her nieces, Jamie Huffman and Angie (Brad) Dalton and their children, all from Tennessee.
