Mr. Michael Wiley Gossett

Michael Wiley Gossett, 73, of Curry, Alabama, went home to be with his Lord, Saturday, June 4, 2016. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Curry. He was retired from Drummond Company, Inc., and he was a veteran of the U.S. Army Paratroopers 82nd Airborne. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Calvert Gossett; and brother, Patrick Gossett. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Kennedy Gossett; son, Mark Allen Gossett; daughter, Melanie Gossett Smith; granddaughters, Mallorie Jordan Smith and Marlee Smith; sister, Miriam Smothers; brother, Stanley Gossett; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended loving family and friends. Visitation will be held today, June 7, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m., with private family time at 4 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 6450 Curry Highway, Jasper, AL. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at 11 a.m., also at Mt. Vernon. Officiating will be Bro. John Gates, Bro. John Wiley and Bro. Barry Lombard.
