Moultie W. Powell, passed away peacefully Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019 at the age of 93 in his home in the Cedar Creek Community, Walker County, Ala. Family will receive friends Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019, from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. Service will follow at 2 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cedar Creek Church of Christ Cemetery.
Mr. Powell was well known to the community, was active member and Deacon at Cedar Creek Church of Christ for many years. He retired from Drummond Co. in 1991 and was an active member of the UMWA-until 2016.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Selina Thompson Wade Powell and John Anderson Powell; (7) siblings, Arlie Wade, Stella Smith, Willie Waldrop, Ivan Wade, Gladys Robertson, Lillian Wendike, and Ruby Lockhart; (1) son, Timothy Powell (aka Merv); grandparents, Mary Lou Davidson Thompson and Sonny Thompson; in-laws, Kathryn Reagan Karrh and Hobert Malone Karrh.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Martha Lee Karrh Powell; son, Wesley James Powell (Mandy); (4) grandchildren, Jessica Douglas (David), Sawyer Powell (Sami), Madison Powell, Samuel Powell; (2) great grandchildren, Owen and Brooklyn Douglas.
