Nell E Daniel

A graveside Service at Oak Hill Cemetery will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 11:30 a.m., with Kilgore-Green Funeral Home directing.

She was preceded in death by her, husband, Clarence Daniel; parents, Harry "Coach” and Nell Sherer Erwin.

She is survived by first cousins, Charles H. Sherer, Jr. (Linda) of Birmingham, Margaret Ann (Sheridan) Randolph of Cleveland, TN, and Sarah Lee (Earl) Riley of Chattanooga, TN and their children and grandchildren.

Nell graduated from Walker County High School in 1949 and received a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Physical Education from Judson College for Women in Marion. After teaching in Talladega for three years, she attended and graduated from Physical Therapy School in Houston, Texas. She received the sixteenth license for physical therapy in Alabama. Nell served as a physical therapist until retiring at age 83. She first served at the Crippled Children's Clinic in Birmingham, working with polio patients. Nell worked as a private therapist, then later at Jackson Clinic in Jasper, for over 20 years, then many years at Ridgewood Health Center. She was an avid lover of horses and dogs, she was an accomplished horsewoman, Nell trained horses for horse shows and also competed in shows. She was a member of First Christian Church.
