Robbie was born on September 7, 1955. From an early age, Robbie’s relentless spirit was evident in all areas of his life. Whether it was his devotion to his family, how he poured his life into his hardware store, or when he was working in his yard and feeding his birds, he consistently gave his all. He truly never knew what it meant to slow down.
He was a devoted son, brother, father, “Paw,” uncle, friend, boss, and many would even say “bachelor”. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family. Those that he met through his many years in the hardware business became his second family.
Hard work was a part of who Robbie was. His first job as a bagger at Son’s Supermarket, his days at Drummond Coal company and Dennis Machinery, his time working for the city of Jasper, and his 25+ years in the hardware business are a testament to his leadership, integrity, and work ethic. Although work came first, he never missed an opportunity to cut up with his coworkers and customers.
Outside of work, Robbie had a variety of hobbies. He loved cooking and grilling. He took pride in maintaining his yard and keeping all the birds in the neighborhood fed. He had a special way of making those around him laugh. He loved clothes and shoes like they were a part of his personality, because honestly, they were.
Robbie’s faith in God shaped him into the person he was; the way he cared for others, served his community, and sacrificed things for those that he loved were a reflection of that faith and the values that he lived by.
Robbie made an impact on everyone that he encountered. If you ever had the honor of meeting him, then your life has been blessed. His love, strength, and example live on through all who knew and loved him.
Robbie is preceded in death by his parents, Bryce Edwin Nuss Sr. and Jeri Dean Nuss; siblings, Regina Nuss Evans and Bryce Nuss Jr.; grandparents Audrey Nuss Stitcher and Wiley Stitcher, Leopal Nuss, Charlie McClinton and Amise McClinton; granddaughter, Brianna Nuss; and nephew, Jeremy Nicholas.
He is survived by his daughters, Nikki Nuss and Brandi Hannah (Patrick); grandchildren, Ian Tuggle, Luke Tuggle, Zeke Tuggle, Titus Tuggle, Madi Hannah, and Macey Haywood; great-grandchildren Jazlynn Hicks and Bladen Hicks; brother, Mark Nuss (Andrea); and nieces and nephews, Shannon Nicholas, Mandy Nuss Smith, Josue Nuss, Augusta Nuss, and Ryker Nuss.
Robbie was also survived by a few people he considered family: Colby Vaughn, who was not just a friend, but like the son he never had; Spencer and Debbie Tuggle, who he considered a bonus brother and sister, as well as some of his most trusted friends; and Harper Shadinger and Jacey Myers, who he considered bonus granddaughters.
