

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, Papa, Papa Bob, and “Hubcap Bob”.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 from 6 pm until 8 pm at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. He will lie In-state at Edgil Grove Baptist Church from 10 am until 11 am. Service will follow at 11 am. Burial will be in the Edgil Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. David Miller and Bro. Scott Argent will officiate.
Bob was married to the love of his life, Debra Mixson Burton, for 33 years. They were married on November 4, 1988. He was born on October 12, 1956, in Jasper, to the late Rosella Mullinax Burton and Bobby Burton. Bob graduated from Walker High School in 1975. He joined the family business, Bobby Burton Construction, after High School. He worked most of his adult life there. He then went to work for the Walker County Solid Waste Department until the time of his retirement. He was an active member of Edgil Grove Baptist Church for nearly 30 years. He enjoyed and loved his brotherhood breakfast group. On Super Bowl Sundays, he became a well loved personality, “Hubcap Bob”. Bob loved the Lord, his family, flashlights, camping, John Wayne, and cooking “hockey puck” sausages.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosella and Bobby Burton and sister, Debbe Vines.
He is survived by his loving wife, Debra Mixson Burton; daughter, Dawn Holliday (Brandon); sons, Andy Lee (Marilyn), Joseph Lee (Crystal); grandchildren, Brianna Lee, Brannian Lee, Abby Buchanan, Mack Caudle, Rachel Caudle, Keegann Lee, Piper Lee, Bryghtin Holliday and Gracelin Holliday; great grand daughter, Sarah Davis; sister, Diane Hudson (Mark); best friend, Dwight Forrester (Cindy).
Bob will be missed and remembered fondly by his family and friends. His sense of humor was always a bright light in any room.
Pallbearers will include, Andy Lee, Joseph Lee, Brannian Lee, Mack Caudle, Brandon Burton, Dwight Forrester, Brice Burton, Wade Burton, and Brandon Holliday.
Honorary Pallbearer, Matt Hudson (in absentia).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Edgil Grove Missions Outreach.
