William Malcomson “Malcom” Tuck, 87, of Jasper, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at his residence.
Family will receive friends Saturday, September 19, 2020, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Jasper. Service will follow at 12 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Jasper, with Kilgore-Green Funeral Home directing. Burial will be at Crestview Memorial Gardens with no graveside service. Dr. Randy Atkinson will officiate.
Malcom was born in Birmingham and grew up in the Inglenook Community. He graduated from Phillips High School then attended Auburn University for two years where he was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity.
After receiving his draft notice, he proudly served his country in the U. S. Army for two years and was stationed in Germany. When he returned to the states he completed his Bachelor of Science Degree at Howard College which later became Samford University.
Throughout his career he did exactly what he had always wanted to do: be an industrial plant manager for GATX and Brown Minneapolis Tank Corporation. Using his engineering skills he designed large above ground and underground storage tanks. After enjoying his employment years, he retired in 1997.
Malcom loved his church and through the years was a faithful member of Hillview Baptist Church in Birmingham, Westside Baptist Church in Jasper, and was currently a member of Jasper's First Baptist Church. This last year was so difficult when due to his declining health, he was unable to attend, but he was never shy about sharing his love for his Lord with anyone.
Malcom was a kind, gentle soul who loved people, loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and loved his wife Delores of 17 years. He will be greatly missed, but his influence will live on in every life with which he came in contact. We rejoice in his home going, good and faithful servant!
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Tuck and Kathryn, Austin Tuck and sister-in-law, Janie Tuck.
He is survived by his wife, Delores Boyd Tuck; daughter, Angela Kaye Tuck; step-daughters, Kristen Hardy Hayes (Allen) and Rachel Hardy Forbus (Andy); grandchildren, Sophia Tuck, Abby Hayes, Olivia Hayes, Ellie Hayes, Hannah Gray, Hunter Gray, Hope Gray and Lauren Forbus; great grandson, Matthew Mendoza; brothers, Gerald Tuck (Loxcil) and Larry Tuck and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A very special thank you to Kindred Hospice in Jasper for your kindness, care and attention to all of our needs during this last year. You were our angels!
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Kindred Hospice 74 Industrial Parkway Jasper, Al 35501.
