I saw this beautiful tribute accidentally. I remember Dom, Mary, Connie and Frank so well from the East liberty church. He was a wonderful singer and I remember when he sang with Tony Fontaine. There is so much love shown in this video tribute. 

 This is Audrey Kerns I new your dad and mom for 45 years he was the best man that was ever I'm my life.always gave me advice and I learned all about the Lord he married me at his house my dad and sister and Rev sgro and his wonderful Mary .I loved him with all my heart.and Mary also.she talked to me alot over the years.

Mary & Family. I just found out today Of Rev. Sgro's passing. My prayers go out to all of you. Dom held a very Special place in my heart. He would come and visit my Mom when she was dying and sang at her funeral with his beautiful voice. He was always there for our family.this year it is 50 years since he married John and I.He sang at our wedding and I could sit and listen to his beautiful voice forever. Mary I send you my Love. Both you and Dom have been a blessing to me and also to my late husband John. GodBLess you and your family and may God give you strength and peace

I had the privilege of working with Rev. Sgro while at SCIWaynesburg. He was a kind, thoughtful, caring man who made those around him feel very special, no matter what their circumstances or background. I feel honored to have known him. May God bless all his family.

Genia, myself, and the rest of our family are very saddened with Uncle Dom's passing.  Reflecting on fond memories, we think of his kindness, acceptance, and love of Jesus. Definitely a life to emulate.  We just heard of his death today and apologize for not reaching out to you earlier.

My mother Filamena Ficca and I want to extend our deepest sympathy to you with the passing of Rev. Scro. My dad Alfred Ficca also had great respect and admiration for him as well.  Many times I came to my grandmother's church Louise Sarracino in Burgettstown, PA and we had the privilege of hearing Rev. Scro many times and were blessed. May the Lord comfort you all. Dean and I are so sad to hear of Brother Dom's passing.  It truly was our honor, 19 years ago, to have received Brother Dom's marriage counseling and to then exchange our wedding vows with Brother Dom's love, gentle smile and guidance. Brother Dom was not super excited to learn that we were getting married on a Gateway Clipper boat and would have much preferred dry land...but even in this, his sacrifice and love of others showed brightly.  My mother, Ruth Marasco (DiStazio) was his biggest fan, and when she passed, Brother Dom and Mary provided comfort to my family. It was our immense honor to know Brother Dom..he will forever positively impact and strengthen our marriage and lives. Our deepest condolences to the family.

God bless this family and the memories they cherish of this wonderful man of God. He was one of the kindest people I've ever known and I thank God that I had the pleasure of knowing him. I'll be praying for all of you that God would overwhelm you with His peace and comfort!

He was a man of great faith, dignity and integrity who touched the lives of all of us in such a positive manner, especially in the darkest of nights when his wisdom and counsel was needed most. Never in all of our lives have we ever met a man so dedicated to sharing God's love and teachings. Pastor Dom would do anything 
to help others and never expected anything in return. He ALWAYS
had a smile and was so soft spoken. He was never afraid to speak
the truth and I loved his sermons. It's so interesting to see how God uses us for different things in others lives. I can't imagine our
lives without Dom being part of it. Even after moving away from Western PA we have always thought about Dom and his wonderful

Although I didnt get to visit much my time as a teenager was with you all more than my home. You took me on vacations, and church camp every year was amazing. I have so many good memories of you Uncle Dom, that I cant even count them. No matter what time I would call you when I was upset you always had an encouraging word for me. Love you so much... Will miss seeing you. Kiss everyone up there for me, wont be long til we are all together again.

So blessed to have known Pastor Sgro. He meant so much to everyone he ever met. I have never known a more precious man of God. He was so loved, he will never be forgotten.

I remember Rev. Sgro from his years in the Burgettstown Area. He was a great friend of my father George Yaksic and they loved to talk about the Lord together. Everyone in our family had the utmost respect for him. Rest in peace. Well done, my good and faithful servant.

This was a great man.  He walked his talk and talked his walk. He unselfishly   fed his  flock  over 50 years with thousands of sermons that he took days and hours to ready himself to deliver only to have the Lord tell him to preach something else just hours before the service.  He always trusted the Lord and preached what his master wanted him to preach.   The Lord always gave him the right words he needed to preach and it always was one of his best!!
 
I had the honor of being his friend for over 50 years.   I will miss him very much and hope to see him in heaven.

I truly believe, Pastor Dom, was chosen by "God" to minister to "His" people. He never hid from  where he started and always was humble about his many saved souls and accomplishments and love of his family. Reverand Sgro has touched 1000's of o u r hearts. He has been there for all our joys and heartaches.  And even as he grew older he still remembered our names and faces. He was one of the greatest person I have ever known. God just got one of the best.

Dear Mary and Connie,  How saddened I am to learn that your dear husband and father has passed. But we KNOW that he is without pain, being embraced by the Risen Lord Himself and dancing with all the angels and saints. to the Sgro family. I am so sorry to learn of the passing of Uncle Dom..He dedicated mu oldest son, Frank Leone. We lived in Burgettstown and attended the church there that he was the Pastor. I will miss this man...but I know where he is...he is with the Lord that he loved and served. my sympathy to Aunt Mary, Connie and Frankie..God bless u and keep u in His care...Uncle Dom is not sick anymore...He has a who new body...Praise the Lord..

Frank, your father once told me that he always had a fear of the dark.  We can rejoice in knowing that he will never never have to fear the darkness again, for surely he is dwelling in the eternal light of his father.  He truly was one of God's shepherds!

Rev. Sgro, our Pastor when Dan and I were dating attending church with my grandparents, came to know the salvation message through his teaching, water baptized us and married us!  A  wonderful example of Gods love and service to so many including my dad, John E, Cirota and our family.  It is comforting to know dad and Rev. Sgro are singing in the  heavenly choir together. Rev.Sgro was the most selfless man I have ever met. He married Kenny and I ,dedicated  Kalynn and baptized  Kenny. I also chose him to speak at my father's  funeral,altho my father was a devoted  Catholic and was given a Catholic  funeral, I felt in my heart Rev Sgro was truly a man of God.

hello my name is Saverio J Marasco. my father was the Reverend Joseph marasco of the Belle Vernon Church of the CCNA. when I was a child our churches would have rallies and we pack up in a bus and go to , let's just say New Brighton , and we'd have a grand old time worshipping the Lord and listening to his word and then fellowshipping and getting to know our brothers and sisters in the surrounding CCNA churches. sometimes at these Rally's dad would be called to sing a solo and he would go up on stage I and he would look around and say hey Dom, hey Ty, come on up here let's sing a trio. two songs I remember them singing together are: That Beautiful Name and Down From His Glory. those three had that wonderful strong Italian voice and they had a special blend that was just wonderful. I remember often being transfixed when they sing , whether it was the same song they sang the last time I heard them or not .
my father died in 1973. and I remember sometime in the nineties deciding to try and find Dom and Ty. I sent Letters Out to addresses I found. and lo and behold I get this phone call from a voice that I didn't readily recognize. and typical Dom and his humor he said in a strong voice is this Saverio marasco. and so I answered not knowing who it was said yes this is he and Dom said you don't know who this is. I was so delighted to hear from him. I never got to visit him but we didn't get to visit Ty. I regret that I never tried to get to where Dom lived and visit him.
Mary I don't know if you remember me or not I was Joe's first born. and actually I sang he touched me at one of the Tabernacle meetings at Sharpsville. and actually it was I believe the time that Tony Fontaine came to the camp. I just have such wonderful memories of your husband. I pray that God's comforting wings would Encompass about you and give you peace and rest. I know that we will all be there reunited in heaven. what a glorious day that's going to be. praise the Lord.

I came to see you on Shady Ave in a small church around 1971. Although I had already accepted Jesus you were one of the very first to share his love and power and forgiveness. Reverend Sgro was instrumental in me beginning my walk with the Lord. I can't think think of a more genuine, caring soul. I am so glad that I got to know him and have gained some of his wisdom and insight. The world lost a true gentleman Saturday.
