Janet Carol Grooms Erickson

She was born July 12, 1940 in Crucible, a daughter of the late Robert Randolph and Margaret Tressa Booze Grooms.

Janet grew up in the Crucible area.

She began her career in banking as teller in Morgantown, WV. Over time she became a Branch Manager and eventually a mortgage processor. She retired as a mortgage examiner for the State of Maryland, where she had been living with her son Tim the last few years.

Surviving are her husband, Gerard “Jerry” Erickson of Annapolis, MD; four children, Richard Allen Howard of Las Vegas, NV, Evelyn Ann (Kenneth) Costello of Reedsville, WV, Timothy Brian Howard of Stafford, VA, and Beverly Maureen (Andrew) Fisher of Bruceton Mills, WV; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Brock, Richard Brunson, Kaleigh Renee Fisher, Shawn Scudder, Bradley Wells, Joshua Myers and Justin Edwards; 9 great grandchildren: Jeannie Grimes, Taylor Grimes, Evan Grimes, Makenzie Grimes, Aaron Edwards, Brandtly Edwards, Bailey Brunson, Juliette Brunson, Barrett Brunson; a sister, Audrey Thompson of Chester, MD; as well as, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a son, Kevin “Randy” Howard; a granddaughter, Stephanie Marie Brock; three brothers, Robert R. “Fritz” Grooms Jr., William F. Grooms, and Melvin G. Grooms; and several nephews.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017 and 11 am to 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 2, 2017, the hour of services in the Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Rd., Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P.
