Larry was a very good, kind man. I recall many fun volleyball and softball games with Larry at Fulmer reunions. I am very sorry for your loss.

I am sorry for your loss. To say Larry was my best friend would be an understatement. He was more like a brother to me. We were best buddies since we met in kindergarten at the old Noss School at California University, When we were little we would play at the railroad station with his brothers and other friends. We would play tick ball by the hours. We used plastic practice golf balls and cut off broom handles for bats. Larry took the games very seriously.Even though we were little kids, we would collectively move box cars on the railroad siding to make them out right field fence. The railroad cops were always cashing after us. They were no match for us. Across the railroad tracks, on the river bank, our little group built a tree house. We had a rope swing on which we would swing out and plunge into the river. Our rope swing was about 100 feet downstream from a sewer pipe. No wonder none of us contracted Polio during the epidemic. Larry and the rest of us taught ourselves to swim. Many of us swam across the river the first time because we learned to swim before we learned how to turn around. When that happened nobody tried to save the swimmer. Instead they would shout "sink or swim". Nobody ever drowned.  We had two Hudson hoods welded together and coal shovel paddles that served as a boat.Larry and another friend went out on the river in that thing in the dead of night in the dead of winter. Larry used to say, "nothing ventured nothing gained." We had some good times. We all went to college together and graduated in the old Steele Auditorium in 1964.. Larry was a good student, and was as honest as the day is long. I know he was very proud of his wife, children, and grand children.In our later years we would make an annual trip to Lake Ontario to fish. He would talk for hours about his family. They were the center of his life. He was my life long buddy and I will miss him.--Joe Boeckx(Kelly)

I remember coming over to house nearly everyday growing up.  Larry would be sitting at the dining room table and he would call me in the room and always ask me, "How's life?" Ginger, Amy, Chrisy...remember we would all sit down at the table and laugh at the unusual things that happened in my life that day?! That's how I will always remember Larry...laughing around the dining room table...making me feel like family.  I'm sorry for you loss.  I loved Larry like family...as I do all of you.

Larry and I would spend weeks at each others house nearly every summer
growing up in the '40s and '50s. The memories will stay with me forever. Larry 
was an amazing baseball player as a kid but enjoyed all sports. We were the
best of friends and cousins. We all will miss him so much
