Leona Faye Devecka

She was born November 16, 1936 in Clarksville (Pitt Gas), a daughter of the late Samuel J. “Cubby” and Leona Edwards Baer.

Mrs. Devecka was a 1954 graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School.

She was retired from the Jefferson-Morgan School District where she had worked for several years in the cafeteria. She had also worked at one time in the Pajama factory in Waynesburg and Sabre Helmet in Jefferson.

On April 7, 1959 she married David D. Devecka Sr., who died March 26, 1979.

Surviving are two sons, David D. Devecka Jr. and his wife Brenda and Michael A. Devecka both of Clarksville; four grandchildren, Andrea, Breigh, Tia and Michael; 7 sisters, Betty Beatty of Pitt Gas, Eleanor Vuicich of Charleston, SC, Gladys Kubasik of Levittown, Jean (Adolph) Mysza of Parma Hts., OH, Shirley (John) Coss of Waynesburg, Patty (Jay) Snincak of Fort Mill, SC and Janet (Gary) Foster of Dale City, VA; a brother, Walter (Phyllis) Baer of Apollo.

Deceased is a brother, Samuel R. Baer.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, in the Behm Funeral Homes Inc.1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where services will held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 6, 2014. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg.
