He was born February 9, 1937 in Morgan Township, Greene County, a son of the late Lester M. and Mary Mae Good Shaw.
Sonny, as he was known, served in the United States Air Force and worked at various jobs including as a coal miner.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
On September 1, 1964 he married Mary Huber, who survives.
Also surviving are four children, Michael (Tracey) Shaw of Richeyville, Janice (Jay) Hart of Brussels, Belgium, Beth (Jim O’Toole) Shaw of White Oak, and Christopher Shaw of Pittsburgh; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three siblings, Robert Shaw of Maricopa, AZ, Linda Skobel of Vestaburg, and William Shaw of Olney, MD.
