Lewis J. Matt III, PhD, 66 of Jefferson died Tuesday, March 12, 2012 in his home. He was born November 19, 1945 in Lancaster, a son of the late Lewis J. II and Alice Matt. Mr. Matt retired from the Department of Corrections at SCI Greene. He was Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. Mr. Matt was a member of American Legion Filer-Sadlek Post #954 of Jefferson, The Lancaster Liederkranz and was an avid model railroader and hunter. He enjoyed drafting and writing as well as running White Buck Farm Jams and Jellies. He lived a highly active life style. Surviving are sons, Shawn M. Jones (Demarie) of Jefferson, and Chris Cohan of Lancaster. Arrangements are private, under the direction of the Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna.
