Loretta V. Nicholson

She was born February 24, 1935 in Jefferson, a daughter of the late John V. and Estella McHenry Banks.

Mrs. Nicholson was a 1953 graduate of Jefferson High School and lived most all of her life in Jefferson. She had moved to Verona in 2002 with her husband.

She was currently a member of the East Liberty Lutheran Church in East Liberty and had been a former member of Little Zion Baptist Church, Jefferson.

Also for many years she and her husband were foster parents in Greene County.

On June 30, 1956 she married Frank L. Nicholson, who died September 22, 2011.

Surviving are five children, Kimberly E. Nicholson of Penn Hills, Lynnese Y. Nicholson of Penn Hills, Dameion J. Nicholson of Jonestown, Maurice F. Nicholson of Penn Hills and Michael K. Cook of Penn Hills; 11 grandchildren; a great grandchild and a sister, Norma M. Kent of Cleveland, OH.

Deceased is a brother, John Banks.

Family and friends will be received from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013, the hour of funeral services in the Behm Funeral Homes, Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor with the Rev. Dr. J-LaVon Kincaid Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, UPMC Children’s Hospital or the American Kidney Foundation.
