Marie C. Keffer McCarty

She was born March 21, 1926 in Republic, a daughter of the late Clarence W. and Sarah McConkey Keffer Sr.

Mrs. McCarty had lived most of her life in Rices Landing, before moving to Maryland to be with her daughter.

She was a member of Sacred Heart RC Church, Rices Landing.

On June 21, 1950 she married Robert E. McCarty, who died October 2, 1985.

Surviving is a daughter, Marie “Bootie” McCarty-Rojas and her husband Victor of Silver Spring, MD.; 3 grandchildren, Joselito, Vico and Rebeca; 3 great-grandchildren, Valan, Victoria, and Tabatha and a sister-in-law, Helen Keffer of Newton Falls, OH.

Deceased in addition to her husband are a daughter, Roberta McCarty; five brothers, James Keffer, David Keffer, John Keffer, Arthur Keffer and Clarence Keffer Jr.; and two sisters in infancy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Rices Landing, with Fr. John M. Bauer as celebrant. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Behm Funeral Homes, Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor.
