

He was born November 24, 1933 in Hetzell, WV, a son of the late Ben V. and Ruth May Triggs Elkins.
Mr. Elkins served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
He was a retired coal miner from Gateway Coal Company and a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
Mr. Elkins was a faithful member of the Greene Valley Church of God.
On June 14, 1956 he married Shirley Ann Vance, who survives.
Also surviving are 7 children, Ruth Marie Adams and her husband Wayne of Cleveland, TN, Dorothy Porter and her husband Rick of Peru, KS, Mary Ann Poplin and her husband Dale of Cleveland, TN, Robert Joseph Elkins and his wife Carrie Lynn of Waynesburg, Troy Lee Elkins and his wife Terrie of Waynesburg, Eva Cain and her husband David of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Adam Elkins and his wife Zea if Irwin; 17 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters, Carnecia Sargent of Pecks Mill, WV and Janice Covert of Oregon.
Deceased are 7 sisters and 6 brothers.
Family and friends will be received from 3:00 to 4:30 pm on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 in the Greene Valley Church of God, 558 Crucible Rd., Rices Landing, PA 15357, where a memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Hathaway officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Greene Valley Church of God. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Behm Funeral Homes, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P.
