He was born June 11, 1944 in Greensburg, a son of the late Herbert H. and Loretta Anderson Smitley.
Mr. Smitley had worked in the produce department of Shop n’ Save for several years before becoming disabled.
He enjoyed playing bingo and was an avid Steeler and Pirates fan.
Surviving are a sister, Nita Broadwater and her husband Russell of Carmichaels; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Deceased are four brothers, Herb (Butch) Smitley, Blaine (Sunshine) Smitley, Gary Smitley and Doug Smitley.
