Stephen James Yourchik

He was born on April 4, 1956 in Waynesburg, a son of the late Stephen and Doris Lynn Yourchik, formerly of Clarksville (Pitt Gas).

Mr. Yourchik was a retired coal miner from Emerald Mine where he worked for 33 years.

He enjoyed working on his family farm, fishing, watching his son play high school football and his daughters play college volleyball and basketball. He was loved by so many.

Mr. Yourchik was a 1975 graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School where he was an outstanding fullback for the Rocket football championship team.

On October 11, 1980 he married Christine Blair Yourchik, who survives.

Also surviving are 2 daughters, Shanna (Tip) Meyers of Clarksville and Shelby (Christopher) Jeffrey of Clarksville; a brother Frank (Kim) Yourchik of Scenery Hill; 2 sisters Sandy (Jim) Howard of Clarksville and Pam Yourchik of Clarksville; a niece Helen (Duane) Dupont of Clarksville; a nephew James (Michele) Howard of Waynesburg; a great niece Madison Dupont, and great nephews Trey & Ryan Howard; and several other family members. He was also anxiously awaiting the arrival of his 1st grandson from his daughter Shanna, who is due in January.

He was preceded in death and greeted in Heaven with a big hug by his son Stevie Yourchik; a sister Karen Yourchik; and his parents and grandparents.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m., on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 in the Behm Funeral Home Inc., 1477 Jefferson Rd., Jefferson PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where services will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. John R. Dorean officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the “Big Steve Memorial Scholarship Fund” at First National Bank, 928 N.
