Born and raised in Queens, New York, Anne later moved to Plainview, Long Island, where fate brought her together with a most amazing man, John Staudt, a neighbor just two doors down. Together, they built a life full of love, raising four children in Bethpage, NY, and creating a home where the door was always open and laughter was always in abundance.
Anne spent her early years raising her family before venturing into retail in the mid-1970s. In 1985, after John retired from a distinguished career with the Nassau County Police Department, they embarked on a new adventure, opening a travel agency with their son Bill. This venture allowed Anne to fulfill her love of exploring the world, visiting countless cities across many continents—with only Antarctica remaining as the ony one she did not visit.
Anne had a gift of being able to strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere, and she did so with grace, warmth, and a ready laugh. She had the wonderful ability to laugh at herself, reminding everyone around her not to take life too seriously. She instilled a strong foundation of the Catholic faith in her family.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John; her sister, Irene; her son, Bill (Lynn); and her daughter, Patti Hernandez (Ramces). She is lovingly remembered by her children, John (Rosemarie) and Kathy (Jim); her grandchildren, Brendan (Lauren), Meghan Weiss (Nate), Anastasia, Alexa (Jack), Jake, Abigail, Quinton, and Ella; and her great-grandchildren, Claire and Nolan Staudt.
Anne’s spirit, her laughter, and her love of life will continue to inspire all who knew her.
