Erma Mason

Mrs. Mason was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Charles and Anna Stecher. After many years in Philadelphia, Erma moved to Pennsauken, New Jersey. She then relocated to Sarasota, FL in 1973, where she lived for 38 years, before finally settling in Stuart 9 months ago.

Prior to her retirement age 82, she was the manager of adult recreation at the Sarasota Senior Recreational Center. Prior to the recreational center, Erma worked as an administrative assistant at Ayers Advertising in Philadelphia, where she met her husband, and for MacMillan Publishing Company.

She was a longtime member of Pine Shores Presbyterian Church in Sarasota. Erma was a wonderful dancer, especially ballroom dancing. She loved life, loved people, and can best be described as a sweetheart.

Erma is survived by her daughters Barbara Mason and Nancy Olsen of Stuart, FL; her sister Ruth Parry of Sarasota, FL; niece Suzanne Upfield of Lake Wales, FL; and nephew Rod Parry of Venice, FL. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harry James Mason.
