To Fred's Family and Loved Ones,
I'm sorry I can't make today's service for Fred.  We both worked for P&W where I got to know him.  He was a good man in every respect and had an attitude similar to Mark Twain's, whose famous phrase was "I never met a man I didn't like".  A friend to all, and always willing to help.  Be proud of him for what he has accomplished. and stood for.  I can only imagine he is in heaven now, going from cloud to cloud, stopping to meet and greet others along the way with "Hi, I'm Fred, how are you doing, can I show you around (I know the really good spots) ?"

I know this is a sad time for you but rejoice in what you shared together and all the neat memories.

Our condolences to Denise and all  of Fred’s immediate and extended family as he was taken much too soon from this world.  We will always remember and appreciate his great character.  His humor I will always be especially fond of.   Though I wish I could have seen him more often I was very thankful to see him recently before his passing as we got to remember some of the many good times we had together.   In one short visit he could  immediately reminded me of why I liked him so much.    May he rest in peace.

Words cannot express our sorrow adequately. Our children brought us together and from the first moment we met we shared more than their marriage.  We immediately became family and shared so many happy times together. We will miss Fred/“Poppy” and pray for strength for the family. He was loved dearly by his family.

 Dear Denise,

Fred and you were a wonderful loving couple and Fred always talked very highly of you. Without you, I do not know how Fred would have managed after his injury. You were always so kind to him and gave up so much of your life to care for him  without any self regret  and showed so much obvious love for him.   Fred will always remember you for your care and love. 

Dear Walden Cousins,
Aunt Mimi and I offer our sincere condolences for your loss.  Mom, despite her dwindling memory, certainly remembered Fred and was deeply saddened when I told her the news.  We have many fond memories of Freddie (as we called him growing up), especially of those weekends at Uncle Jim and Aunt DeeDee's lake house and when he lived with us in Dania in the late 70's.  Fred certainly made us all laugh and he was a joy to be around.  He will be sorely missed by all of us.  He now is rejoicing in heaven with Dad, Uncle Jim and Aunt DeeDee.  May he rest in peace.

I am so sorry that you are experiencing this enormous loss. There are no words that I can say that would take this pain away, but I do know that God will get you through this and that is my prayer.  I am so thankful to HIM that Fred Walden was your dad.  Because of that, I have experienced a life-loving, pelvis thrusting, selfless friend whom I love with my whole heart. I know that your dad played a huge part in who you are.

To the Walden family and my daughter-in-law,
Sadly, I did not get to know Fred as long as I would like to have but the man I knew was always honest, open and easy with conversation. Fred was not judgmental or difficult to read, he made me feel like we had been friends for years.  It was obvious to me that he loved all his girls and his two boys/ grandsons.  With knowing Fred I realized one important thing: you didn’t have to be  long-time friends to be good friends. So long my friend, until we meet again in our Heavenly Home.  John Liner

Fred is survived by the love of his life, Denise Heakin his daughters Meghan (Brandon) Mabry and Ashley (Matt) Liner, his sisters Patricia Nader and Cynthia Walden and his brother Robert Walden, grandchildren Merritt and Mallie Mabry and Sloan Clell and Sawyer Liner.
