Henry was predeceased by his father, Thomas J. Caimotto, and mother, Mary T. Caimotto. He is survived by his son, Frederick, and daughter, Alexandra. He also leaves behind Mary Rollins, his friend and former spouse, his brother Thomas J. Caimotto (Darlene), nieces and nephews, many close friends, and present and past employees.
As a young man, Henry started his career as a cosmetologist, opening several locations of The Carriage Trade Salon in Southfield, MI. He was well known in the industry with generations of clients who loved “Hank” and the way he treated them in the chair.
In the early 1980s, he traded in his scissors and long pants to follow his dream to work on the water in South Florida. Here he became sole owner of his beloved Snook Nook Bait and Tackle. He soon built a reputation as the place to go for angling advice and quality merchandise and as a staunch supporter of the community and local causes.
In the following years, his campaign to preserve our beautiful waterways began. Through radio shows, seminars, television and from the helm of the Snook Nook, he would discuss the state of our fisheries with anyone who would listen. He let you know the facts when it came to the fight for clean water—the good, the bad and the ugly. As it turns out, it would be a fight that outlasted his lifetime.
A celebration of his life will be held February 12, 2022, 4:00pm at The Snook Nook in Jensen Beach, FL . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Environmental Studies Center, 2900 NE Indian River Drive, Jensen Beach, Florida 34957 or Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL, 34997.
“No matter where you go in life, always leave the place better than you found it.”
-Happy Henry
