> It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Henry J. Callahan, affectionately known as Harry, who left us on June 8, 2025. Born in Queens, New York, Harry graduated from Hempstead High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant.
>
> Upon returning from Vietnam, Harry dedicated his life to public service as a Nassau County Police Officer. His distinguished career spanned 31 years, during which he was awarded the county’s highest honor, the Medal of Valor, and served as a first responder during the tragic events of 9/11. He retired with the rank of Sergeant, leaving behind a legacy of bravery and dedication.

> Harry is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, and their children: Cody, Colleen Pat (Becky), Shawn, and Brian (Dawn). He was also a proud grandfather to eight cherished grandchildren and a great-grandfather to one.
>
> In his leisure time, Harry enjoyed playing softball, engaging in trivia, and spending quality moments with family, friends, and his adored dogs: Maggie, Maui, Valentine, Velvet, and Nugget. He had a passion for crossword puzzles and was an avid follower of Fox News.

> Friends remember Harry as a "Cop’s Cop," a man of integrity and camaraderie. He will be cherished and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
>
> Family and friends are invited to a visitation on June 12, 2025, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Aycock Funeral Home in Jensen Beach, FL. A Mass will be held on June 13, 2025, at 11 AM at St. Martin de Porres in Jensen FL
