I’m so saddened to read of Hank’s passing. I hadn’t seen Hank in 40 years, but as my classmates from Christ the King Seminary, East Aurora, NY  get ready for our 40th year anniversary since graduation, we all are learning of Hank’s passing. I feel sure Hank lived a full and wonderful life given the pictures and the words people have left in memory. Eternal rest grant to him oh Lord , and perpetual light shine upon Hank!

My heart is saddened today to learn of your tremendous loss. I join with many in sharing my condolences and prayers to your family. 

I know he was a special person whose love for you and his family was paramount.

Mr. Hank was one of those one in a million people. Never in my life have I been more honored to have known someone. The impact he had on my brother Peter's life will never be matched. I can only hope to be half the person Mr. Hank was; he will be loved always and forever remembered. <3

I knew one day I would walk down this road but I never thought today would be that day, 

The bond we had was not had by others, the waking up on Christmas morning in the room that we shared, who would wake up first, getting up early on thanksgiving to go out hunting with Dad. The milk route, I got to get up early in the morning like 4:30 am to help you deliver milk. My brother you have given me the best of memories,  I will do my best to keep our kids as a family I promise that I will look after Josh  and let him know he has a uncle that is behind him in life, see to it that if there is anything needed by Julia she knows that I will be there to aid her in any way I can, Also I'm there to if GiGi needs help. I will never lose your memories my brother therefore you stay alive here in my heart so I know I will be OK……………………………………….

Gigi, Josh and Julia, I was honored to call Hank my friend, co worker, and offerer of wonderful advice. I am proud to count him among one of my guiding forces in my life. My thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathies are with you all at this time. He will be forever with us.

My deepest sympathy goes out to you Gigi and family....I have such wonderful  memories of the years that Hank and I co-chaired SAC at Stuart Middle School. We had many times to share our personal stories and knowledge about teaching. He was such a nice guy and so helpful. I know he loved his family more than anything! Mr. Oset was a wonderful teacher and person and I am so sorry to hear of passing.  He meant so much to so many students.  Please know that we are thinking of you and your family.

Mr. Oset was a great teacher at Anderson Middle School and he will be sadly missed!!! He taught my oldest son Randy Rice when he started Anderson Middle for Math before became a awesome teacher to all of the autism kids.  My younger son didnt have him as a teacher but did help in his class on fridays with the kids in the class and love it. My younger son is in the program also and he looked up to Mr. Oset each and everyday .  He was always a freindly guy and would go out of his way to help his kids and there parents.  We love u and will miss u!!! You are our Guardain Angel now!!! That is what Riley Rice my son said to me !!!  My prays go out to all your family!!!   love The Rice family

My thoughts and prayers for the family of one very special man.  I was fortunate to have worked with Hank.  He was so full of energy and concern for his "boys."  I enjoyed being included in discussions of his plans and new innovative ideas as he ran his program.     Now God has other special plans for him.

Mr. Hank was a wonderful man who truly cared for his students like they were his own. Peter loved him with all of his heart and always will... You will truly be missed and all the field trips to Sammy J's will definitely be fond memories...May you rest in peace. Cassie Loutos (Peter's sister)

Dear Oset family, I am so sad that Mr. Hank will not be here to teach my son Petey. The impact that Hank had on our lives will never be matched by anyone. He was truly an angel on earth, and I pray that he will be a guardian angel for my Petey. No one outside of our family has shown Petey the love that Hank showed him. Thankyou for sharing Hank with us. I am so sorry for your loss, God bless your family.

So very sad to hear of Mr. Oset's passing.  He was a wonderful teacher and friend to all at Notre Dame years ago. I have many fond memories of the  years that he spent with us - he was certainly one of my favorite teachers. Thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Mr Oset, you will always hold a special place in my heart . for all that you did for andrew and my family.  you had a unique way of bringing out the best in the children that you taught,  you knew that they had the abilities to do things, you did not give up. you gave them the confidence and you succeeded in letting them be apart of this world with there daily activities, and gave them the courage to face the daily challenges they have.  I believe that will always live on with the children they will continue to do well. You have taught me as a parent that the children can do anything. Andrew has grown and learned so much in the time he has been with you, You were a great mentor and best bud to him.. iv praised you, to you, and many others on how magnificent you are. Because of you Andrew is where he is today. Aswell as your other students. Although you are no longer present with us your loss weighs heavy on my heart. your teachings and your kindness will always be remembered, and be with us. Andrew, Danielle and I will miss you dearly, I'm glad that we sat together on parent teacher conference night. Never knew it would be the last time I would see your smile, and the joy the classroom and students gave to you. I, we the kids will always remember you. Thank you! buddies from Wadham Hall at Cary & my wedding with me playing my recorder and the bridemaids helping to sing "By My Side" from the "GodSpell" album... thanks for all front lawn's campouts, or the deep in the woods campouts using you as a "flash lite" or all our tree forts, football games, baseball games, softball games, basketball games and ice hockey games with me getting the stitches... our working at Bacbi's boarding house and at the Blue Ribbon Restaurant(you-bartender, me-chef) or playing hide-n-seek for hours with me hiding in woods ... see Hank, our younger days were fun, our working & married years were hard and with eyes looking to God to help us to get through but that is where i needed your little calls to help cheer "us" up at the Kean's home away in GA, thanks for the calls, i always wished you'd let me into your world a little more... now it's time to relax and sing in God's big choir, have fun with cousin Chet and the rest of our scattered family... give Dad a huge hug for me ... i'm so proud to be your big sister... love dee

We will always have Hank in our hearts.  He was such a positive role model for our children with the CCD program.  We will remember his kindness and humor.

Many of you don't know me but I was in academic games under the coaching under Mr.Oset. I saw him a lot and experienced a lot with him when I was in the county,state, and national competition and I even went to Anderson when he taught the special needs class(which takes a special and generous man to teach.) Through all of that I learned he was a kind,generous man who had a big heart and was very understanding. I wish I could be at his funeral. Anyways may god bless his soul.

Hank played a major role in both my husband's and my own Christian Formation.  He was music, he was kindness and patience, but most importantly, he was unconditional positive regard.  His influence will live on in our hearts and in our efforts to follow his lead in teaching young members of our church.  We are deeply saddened for his family and wish to send our love and prayers.
