James J Donnelly

James “Jim” J. Donnelly, 78, of Jensen Beach, passed away peacefully at home on May 30, 2022. Jim was generous to family and friends and was eager to entertain. He loved the outdoors as an accomplished bow hunter. Jim often dispensed a spirited take on the world, stirred with his animated humor.

Jim was born November 9, 1943 in Staten Island, NY, the son of James and Gilda Donnelly (Capitelli). He graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the College of Aeronautics and worked for Grumman Aerospace in Bethpage, NY. Jim was part of the F-14 Tomcat fighter engineering unit and especially proud that his signature rests on the moon as a Lunar Module project teammate. Jim later owned a successful business as a Manufacturers’ Representative for several companies, assembling deals that formed the backbone of the U.S. aviation industry.

Jim is survived by his beloved and caring wife of 27 years, Linda (Klammer); son James Donnelly of Charlotte, NC, along with wife Katy and two grandchildren Tyler and Avery Kate Donnelly; daughter Suzanne Diaz of Jackson, NJ, with husband Jesse and three grandchildren Jesse Jr., Julianna and Joseph Diaz.

The family has opted to conduct a private celebration of life at a later date.
