Larry Spitnale

Larry was born on February 28, 1941, in Putnam County, Ohio, to the late Leo and Betty Spitnale. He married Linda on October 19, 1991 and she survives. Also surviving are his stepson, Hugh (Shannon) Eighmie II ; stepdaughter, Leslie (Frank) Zerbinos; granddaughters, Loren and Lily Eighmie and Lindsey Zerbinos; and serveral nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Larry was preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne, Lowell, Jerry, and David.

Larry graduated from McComb High School, McComb, Ohio, and attended Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio. In addition to serving as a sergeant in the 196th Light Infantry Brigade in Viet Nam, Larry was employed by Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., Findlay, Ohio, for 30 years.

Espousing the personal motto, “Work hard and play hard,” Larry enjoyed varied activities in his free time, including boating on the Maumee River and playing in golf and bowling leagues while in Ohio, and volunteering on the manatee tour boat in Florida. He also dearly loved his canine best friend, Fergie.

A memorial service for Larry will be held on November 7, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church of Port St. Lucie. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial gifts may be made to the Manatee Observation and Education Center or the Humane Society of St. Lucie County.
