Nancy, of course I have been thinking of you and Tom so often during the past several days.  I unfortunately could not make it to Pittsburgh but I was there with you in spirit.  You and "Uncle Tom" have been such an important part of my life for as long as I can remember, probably 40 years.  You both have shown me how to be a positive, happy person and your amazing relationship has truly been an inspiration to Renee and me.

All who knew Tom will greatly miss his unsurpassed kindness and humor!  I can still hear him, after everyone at the table had consumed a massive amount of food (as was the case with each incredible meal that you and Tom prepared), declaring in his ridiculous French accent, "no more for me," stated as though he had just finished a delicate appetizer and could not possibly continue any further.  A master of timing and delivery - as are all great comedians!  :-)

I know I am one of hundreds and hundreds who is so thankful to have many fond memories to carry with me forever.

Bless you both.  Nancy, our very best wishes go out to you.  We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Tom facilitated my first job at J&L Steel in 1976. I also have fond memories of summers around his sister's pool in Pittsburgh's north hills area. Turns out that he was "Uncle T" to one of my best friends before he was Mr. Erwin at work.

Nancy, my sincere and very deepest sympathy with Tom's passing. I am Nelson Fairley's sister from West View and went all thru school with Shirley. All of us loved Tom and his joyous personality. I have such good and funny memories of Tom and Nels. He and Nelson were very close buddys. I would like to contact his sister in Pgh.

Nancy, Glenn and I are sorry about uncle Tom. Growing up I still remember him as always smiling and laughing. I had never seen him where he did not show kindness to everyone he met. I pray that my life can be as kind and always look for good.  Love , always
