Tom was preceded in death by his parents Harry & Martha York of Stuart, FL , brother James (Elaine)York of South Bend, IN and Son Scott York of Ft. Pierce, FL

He is survived in death by his Daughters Tammy (Wally) Wall of Islandton, SC, Lisa York of Port St. Lucie, FL, Grandchildren Taylor (Alex) Nielson) or Okeechobee, FL, Alexia Fernandez of Trade, TN, Damon York of Nashville, TN, and Sara (Tristan) York of Ft. Pierce, FL, Great Grandchildren Harmony Shoaf, Nova York, Phoenix York, and Madison York, Nephew Pat (Cindy) York of Osceola, IN, Great nephew Jamie (Jennifer) York of IN and great great niece & nephew Kaelyn & Watson.

Tom loved his family and loved his life to the fullest and with passion. He never met a stranger. If you were a friend of Tom’s you were family.

Tom proudly served his country for 4 years in the United States Air Force.

He was a deputy, Sargent, and lieutenant throughout his 22+ years with the Martin County Sheriff’s Department and loved every minute of it. But if you were to ask what his true passion, his true obsession was, well that would be his years he spent on the race track. Racing the Super Modified’s and Sprint cars. He was inducted into the Anderson Little 500 Hall of Fame in May of 2010. He continued to follow the racing circuit until the end

A Celebration of Life for Thomas Wayne York will be held at Aycock Funeral Home, 950 NE Jensen Beach Blvd, Jensen Beach, FL 34957, US, on April 22, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
