Vivian Shipley Huff, age 80, of Gray, Tennessee went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at the NHC Healthcare of Johnson City surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Gray, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Cecil Shipley and Mary Cross Shipley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Steven Huff, Jr.; six brothers, Cecil Lee “Doc” Shipley, William “Dub” Shipley, James Shipley, Ralph Shipley, Raphael Shipley, and George Shipley; and two sisters, Marie Lowe and Pauline Ward.
Vivian was a loving and caring person and will be greatly missed by her family and everyone that knew her. She attended Rich Acres Free Will Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Steven Huff; one daughter and son-in-law, Patty Bennett (Gene); one son and daughter-in-law, Scotty Huff (Joann); five grandchildren, Tom Bennett, Jr. (Pam), Alyssa Moore (Bradley), Scotty Huff, Jr., Ashlee Ebberts, and John Boy Ebberts (Christian); eleven great grandchildren, Summer Bennett, Tom Bennett III, Lucy Moore, Brenley Moore, Bentley Valentine, Benjamin Valentine, Brooklyn Valentine, Camden Ebberts, Easton Ebberts, Maycee Ebberts, and Millie Jo Ebberts; two sisters, Ruth Mohler and Judy Shipley; two brothers, Charles Shipley and Ronnie Shipley; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 6, 2024 from 11:00AM until 12:45PM at Monte Vista Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Allen Lowe (Nephew), Pastor Kenneth Grindstaff, and Pastor Brett Jones officiating. Committal Service and Interment will follow in the Garden of Sermon on the Mount at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Tom Bennett, Jr., Scotty Huff, Jr., John Boy Ebberts, Bradley Moore, Donald Shipley, Mikey Shipley, Steven Casey and Kody Casey.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the entire staff at NHC Healthcare of Johnson City for the wonderful care they gave to mama, especially Station 1 Nurses and CNA’s; also thank you to Dr. Bowling for the care that you provided and Caris Hospice.
