William Condie Ausborn

William C. “W.C.” Ausborn finished his race on April 12th 2026. He passed from this life at The Johnson City Medical Center quietly and peacefully. W.C. was born on May 7, 1937 in Amory, Mississippi. After graduating high school in 1955 he attended Freed-Hardeman College in Henderson, Tn. He served in the United States Army and the Mississippi National Guard. In 1969, he made Johnson City his home when he became the assistant manager at the downtown J.C.Penney store. He has held many other positions over the years including owning Vic’s Discount, routeman for Krispy Kreme and Lance Snack Products and then retiring in 2020 from Washington County Schools as a bus driver.

More importantly, W.C. was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was predeceased by his parents, Connie and Ettie Belle Ausborn. W.C. is survived by four children; Angie Lloyd (Doug), Keith Ausborn (Stephanie), Leigh Anne Harvill (Donald), and Mike Ausborn (Heather Davis). He also has 9 grandchildren: Ashley Anderson (Derek), Gracelyn Harvill (Cody Whitaker), Abriel Dotton (Andrew), Abigail Ausborn, Kalista Ausborn, Jackson Harvill, Jayse Ausborn, Zayd Ausborn and Kash Ausborn. He has one great-grandchild, Valerie Whitaker.

William would want to honor his former wife and mother of 3 of his children, Glenda Haynie; who was there for him throughout the years and until the end. W.C. was a beloved member of The Central Church of Christ in Johnson City and dearly loved his church family. He enjoyed Volunteer Football, the beauty of the Tennessee mountains, and a gravy biscuit from Bojangles!

The family of William “W.C.” Ausborn will receive friends from 4pm until 6 pm on Friday April 17th at Central Church of Christ 2722 E Oakland Avenue Johnson City. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 6pm.
