

Beryl “Jack” Stanley Walters, age 70, passed away peacefully at his home in Pataskala on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 with his loving family by his side. Beryl was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on November 19, 1943 to the late Bearl S. and Marjorie L. Walters. Known to his family and friends as “Jack” he graduated from Valley High School in Lucasville, OH, Class of 1961. Beryl then entered the Air Force Academy and was honorably discharged in 1967. He then settled in Columbus and began his professional career in the trucking industry. Shortly thereafter, he met and married his wife, Mary “Molly” (Kane) in 1970 and lived happily together for 44 years. Beryl was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4324 in Johnstown, Ohio, where he served at many levels. Beryl’s hobbies included gambling at the casinos, tinkering with old automobiles, fishing with his grandkids, taking care of his yard and playing poker with his buddies. In addition to his parents, Beryl was preceded in death by sister, Bellita Walters; mother in law, Suzanne Kane; and nephews Stephen Boyd and Alex Kane. Survived by his wife, Mary; son, M. Scott Walters of Ithaca, NY; daughter, Beth (Rob) Cotner of Gahanna, Ohio; son, Beryl of Pataskala, Ohio; daughter, Betsy (Jeremy) Rupe of Middleport, Ohio; brothers, Jeff (Pat) of Beaver, Ohio; Gary of Beaver, Ohio; sisters, Sonny (Joe) Boyd of Beaver, Ohio; Carmalita (Paul) Spencer of McDermott, Ohio; Rheeta (Jim) Leach of Jackson, Ohio; Sue (Tommy) Farleigh of Beaver, Ohio; sister-in-law Judy (Jim) Grogan, brothers-in-law Jack Kane and Pat Kane; grandchildren, Bailey, Dempsey, Briar, Harrison, Berylie, Bradley, Trevor and Audrey; many nieces and nephews, friends and other relatives. Friends may call 9:30-10:30 AM Friday, March 21, 2014 at Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 225 N. Main Street, Johnstown, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM Friday at the Church of the Ascension, 555 S. Main Street, Johnstown, Ohio, followed immediately by interment with military honors at St. Joseph Cemetery in Johnstown. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Mt. Carmel Hospice, c/o Mt.
