

Connie S. Poe, 68, of Alexandria, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 27, 2021. She was born on July 28, 1953 in Columbus, OH, a daughter to the late Jethro and Harriet (Steele) Conley. Connie attended Watkins Memorial High School and worked at Riverside Methodist Hospital for many years. She had an avid love of gardening and was a zealous lover of all animals, but especially fond of dogs and horses. Connie was an advocate for those less fortunate and had an interest in human rights and equality. She had an immense love for her family and was loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Connie is survived by her loving children, Rod Poe and Gabrielle Poe; grandson, Julian McLaren; siblings, Amanda Hiatt, Allen Conley, Julie Vint, Faith Ann Sciacca and Charlene Garcia. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her former husband, Harry Douglas Poe III. Honoring the family’s wishes, cremation will take place. The family will be holding a private celebration of life per her wishes. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to a charity close to her heart, Paws Ohio, P.O. Box 24651, Cleveland, OH 44124 in her memory.
