Donna J. Snider

Donna J. Snider, 92, of Newark, Ohio, passed away March 18, 2022 at Hospice of Central Ohio after a nine-day stay at LMH for complications from a urinary tract infection, dementia, and procedures to attempt a cure.

Donna was born December 18, 1929 in Newark, Ohio to the late Donald Bush and Iva (Bevard) Ramsey.

She was raised in Newark along with her three siblings by her mother’s hard work and Christian beliefs.

Donna attended Newark High School where she was a majorette baton twirler in the band.

She was a homemaker, where she and her husband Bill raised their three children: Rick, Dawn Lynn, and Larry.

In her earlier years she worked at Newark Hospital as an assistant nurse’s aide, then she worked at Klines Department Store in clothing and Woolworth’s lunch counter in the 60’s. She also assisted at Sunday school at EUB Church on East Main Street in the 50’s.

Bill and Donna were married a lifetime of 74 years and were inseparable, sharing everything from bowling, golfing, fishing, boating, traveling, and above all western square dancing. They moved to Englewood, Florida after retirement, where they vacationed for many years.

Donna loved her alone thing – yard gardening. She was the brightest flower in the garden. If she wasn’t tending to the flowers, she was placing pavers or stones to enhance them.

Other hobbies of Donna’s included hand painting sand dollars, cooking, rearranging and decorating the house, and playing her favorite computer game “Free Cell”.

She loved to play euchre with her partner Shirley Snider vs Bill and brother-in-law Don Snider. She played spades and bid euchre with her partner and daughter-in-law Deb vs Bill and son Larry. When her late son Ric would play the music and put his hand out, she was ready to dance.

When she fell ill she said the only prayer God didn’t answer was to take her home to be with him.

Donna is survived by her husband Bill L Snider, son Larry (Deborah) Snider, daughter-in-law Linda Snider, grandchildren: Rich, Rob, Dawn Michelle and Eric (Marie) Snider, great-grandchildren: Cailin, Chandler, Justin, Jessica, Rachel, Nathan, Tanner, Paige, Peyton, and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Donna is preceded in passing by her son Ric, daughter and son-in-law Dawn Lynn and Gary Phelan, brothers Donald and Clyde Bush, sister Clarabell “Vickie” Scott, stepfather Frank Ramsey, best friend and mother-in-law Enda Snider, and father-in-law Enid Snider.

Crouse-Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home is honored to be handling the arrangements. Following Donna’s wishes there will be no services at this time.
