Nancy Lee Clark

Nancy Lee Clark, 77 years old, passed away at home, on June 5, 2015 surrounded by loved ones, and under the care of Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born May 26, 1938, in Johnstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Melvin and Thelma (Williamson) Downing of Johnstown, Ohio. Nancy grew up on her parents' farm, outside of Johnstown, along with her five siblings. She attended Johnstown Schools. As an adult, Nancy worked at The Johnstown Independent and Hettinger's Clothing Store. She also worked for Congressman John Ashbrook for many years. Nancy retired from her husband's business, DJ's Custom Plumbing, where she was the office manager and book keeper. She was a member of Concord Community Willing Worker's Club, and a member of the Johnstown Presbyterian Church.Nancy loved being a mother and grandmother, and was at her best when taking care of her family. Her talents included cooking, baking, sewing, needle point, painting, and gardening. She also loved reading, playing games with her grandchildren, and giving countless tea parties for any child who requested one.She leaves behind to rejoice in her life and to mourn her physical loss her children, Debra (Jeff) Hayes, Diane (Roy) Bauman, Doug (Laurie) Moore, Darlene (Harold) Compton, Lisa Moore, Todd (Liz) Moore; and four stepchildren; countless grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; one brother; and two sisters. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, G. Frederick Moore; her second husband, Donald J. Clark; her sisters, Joan Cline and Lois Bradley; her grandson, Thomas Watson.A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, June 13, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at The Johnstown Presbyterian Church, 81 S. Main Street, Johnstown, Ohio 43031, with Pastor Dan McLaughlin officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., prior to the service. A private graveside service will be held at Green Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road, Newark, Ohio 43055.
