

Saundra Evans Almendinger, 79, of Johnstown, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2016, at New Albany Care Center. She was born on November 20, 1936, in Jackson, Tennessee, a daughter to the late Blynn Willison and Louise (Frederick) Evans. Saundra was a graduate of Johnstown High School and Hillsdale College. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, Daughters of the American Revolution, and a life-time member of the Johnstown United Methodist Church. There, she served as a trustee, choir member, Sunday school teacher, finance committee member, rental manager, and junior choir leader. Saundra loved to read, knit, play bridge, and raise St. Bernards. She was passionate about politics, traveling abroad, and supporting her hometown Johnnies. Saundra is survived by her husband, Gene of fifty-two years; three sons, Randal (Cheryl), Mark (Lori) and Daniel (Kris); eight grandchildren and sister, Margaret (Jerry) Albert. May your lives be productive and happy in God’s love, and please take care of Gus. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2016, at Johnstown United Methodist Church, 159 S. Main St., Johnstown, OH 43031. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the Church. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.
