Scott Paul Lockwood

Scott was born December 27, 1952, in Columbus, OH. He was a gentle and kind man with a sense of fun. He loved to tell jokes and he loved reading comics. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Albert Lockwood and Cloetta Irene Clark Lockwood.

In 2010, after a distinguished 35 year career, Scott retired from his position of Manager of Operations Engineering at American Electric Power. The bulk of his career was spent as an engineer in Transmission Planning or Systems Operations. He was a licensed Professional Engineer of the State of Ohio. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from The Ohio State University in 1975.

Scott was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be sorely missed. He loved to travel and has seen much of the world with his wife, friends and family. Scott was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Johnstown, OH where he served in many roles such as Elder and as Treasurer. He secured much of the audio-visual and sound system equipment of the church, and you would often see him at the sound board during services. He was heavily involved in Scouting for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of the USA.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Linda Bell Lockwood, Daughter Christina Lockwood Jackson (Thomas) of Friendswood, TX, Son Craig D. Lockwood of Gahanna, OH, Grandchildren Emily Jackson, Wesley Jackson and Madelyn Jackson of Friendswood, TX.

He is also survived by his Sister, Pamela A. Bay (Ole) of Newark, OH, Niece Amber A. Bay of Newark, OH, Nephew Travis A. Bay (Anne) of Gahanna, OH, Brother-in Law Terry D. Bell (Mary Ellen) of Leland, NC, Niece Natalie Scully (Colin) of Hastings, MN, and Andrea Heaton (Michael) of Burnsville, MN; Brother-in-Law Randy Bell (Tracey) of Zanesville, OH, Step-Niece Jessica Jones (Ryan) and Step-Nephew Christopher Payne (Nicole) of Westerville, OH.

He is also survived by a Great-Uncle, David R. Lockwood (Jeanne) of Massillon, OH and numerous cousins.

A Celebration of Life service for Scott Paul Lockwood, 69, of Johnstown, OH will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 22, 2022, with calling hours from 9:30-11 A.M. at the Presbyterian Church of Johnstown, 81 S. Main St., Johnstown, OH with Pastor Kevin W. Heckathorn presiding. Flowers for the service can be delivered to the Presbyterian Church of Johnstown, 81 S. Main St., Johnstown, Ohio 43031. In lieu of flowers, donations can be given in memory of Scott Paul Lockwood to the Presbyterian Church of Johnstown, Building Fund. A private inurnment will take place at Newark Memorial Gardens
