

Walla S. Disbennett, Jr., age 89, of Olive Green, OH, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at home surrounded by his family after a brief illness. Retired Assistant foreman at Ebco Manufacturing after many years of farming. Veteran U.S. Army. Avid hunter and fisherman. Born May 11, 1924 in Johnstown, OH to the late Walla S., Sr. and Ora Mae (Adams) Disbennett. Also preceded in death by 4 brothers and 5 sisters. Walla dedicated his life to his family, leaving behind to treasure his memory his beloved wife of 68 years, Donna Joan (Dague) Disbennett; children, Walla (Barbara) Disbennett III, Jean (Eskham) Hayes and Dan (Becki) Disbennett; 5 grandchildren; 11 great and 2 great-great-grandchildren. A special thank you for their assistance, thoughts and prayers to longtime friends of the family, Linda and Eddie Roshon; as well as special thanks to the Gentiva Hospice of Gahanna and Porter-Kingston Fire Department/Delaware County Medic 6. Funeral Service 7 PM Monday, March 31, 2014 at Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 225 N. Main Street, Johnstown, where the family will receive visitors from 4PM until time of service. Pastor Dan Hamilton officiating. A private graveside service for the family will be held at a later date. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Porter-Kingston Fire Department/Delaware County Medic 6, Croton Church of Christ and/or Gentiva Hospice Foundation in Walla’s memory.
