Asa "Bucky" Ward Nixon III

Asa “Bucky” Nixon of Conley, GA went to be with the Lord on October 19, 2020. He was born in West Virginia on May 20, 1943. He served in the U.S. Army for four years mainly being stationed in Germany. Bucky was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA for the last 11 years.

He later moved to Atlanta, GA where he met his beloved wife, Joy Gosa Nixon. They were married for 42 years before she passed away in 2011. He is survived by their four children; Chris Hush, Phyllis (Rickey) Whitmarsh, Tammy (David) Parsons and the youngest daughter; Mickey Harper. He has four grandkids; Sharee Kubik, Seth Massey and his fiancé, Shane (Jessica) Massey and Byron (Lindsay) Whitmash. He gained five great grandkids; Destinie Mays, Matthew Kubik (US Army), Gabriel Kubik, Vivienne Massey and the youngest Mayvis Whitmarsh. Bucky has two siblings; Anita Williamson (deceased) and younger brother; Allen (Arlene) Nixon. He has one niece; Lisa Williamson, who gave him two great nieces and three great nephews and then two great great nephews.

Family and friends will be received for a visitation on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Tara Garden Chapel from 5 PM to 9 PM. A funeral service will be held at the same location on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 1 PM. Interment will follow at Camp Memorial Park in Fayetteville.
