

Charlotte Flanagan “Granny” Elliott, age 86 died in the comfort of her home in Jonesboro, Georgia on March 27, 2012. Charlotte was born April 12, 1925 in Knoxville, Tennessee and was a daughter of the late Daniel and Lillie Flanagan. She was one of 9 siblings and married Raymond Houston Elliott. She retired form Macy’s in 1988 after 25 years of faithful service.
Charlotte was a member of Church of God for many years. The Landing Church of God was her home church where she continued to serve the Lord and will be missed by all who knew her. Granny will especially be remembered as a faithful Christian and prayer warrior who prayed for her family and friends or for anyone in need. One of her many gifts were hospitality, along with baking beautiful and delectable birthday and wedding cakes. Regardless of the circumstances, Granny’s faith always remained strong. She would remind loved ones that “God’s a workin’.” M That God would work something good out of the situation. She loved traveling and spending time with others. Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Raymond Elliott. She is survived by her children, Bonnie Berryhill, Annette Bartram, Linda Germany Espiritu, Pam Newton, Sandy Fincher and Ray Elliott; 16 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren, and sisters, Helen Baker and Martha Whaley. Home going services will be held Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Tara Garden Chapel with Rev. Chris Vaughn officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, March 30, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Tara Garden Chapel Funeral Home, Jonesboro, GA is in charge of arrangements 770-471-7171.
