

Mrs. Frances Adams Garland was born on Dec.10, 1926. Mrs. Garland (age 89) of Riverdale, Georgia passed away on January 30, 2016. She lived a long and fruitful life from being born in her parent’s home to graduating from Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn) in 1947. She worked for Delta Air Lines, where she met and married the love of her life. They had two children and she eventually retired from Republic (Southern Airways) in 1986; only to return to work with J.C. Penneys and retire again in 1997. She and her husband Floyd traveled and enjoyed life. In 2000 at the death of her husband she returned to her roots by joining the First Baptist Church -Riverdale where she was an active member until she passed. She spent the last part of her life traveling with her running partner Regina Garland Webb from Alaska to Europe until she could not go on anymore. She is preceded in death by her parents, Boynton & Corrine Adams, husband, Floyd Edgar Garland; sister in law Regina Garland Webb. She leaves to cherish her memory; two sons, Judson Adams Garland, and James Floyd Garland; two grandchildren, Adrian Judson Garland and Claire Elizabeth Garland, cousins; George “A” Hawkins of Seattle, WA., and Elaine Graddy of Griffin, GA.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 11am-12pm at the First Baptist Church – Riverdale 6805 Church St. Riverdale, GA. 30274. Funeral services will begin at 12pm. The Rev. Jeff Lowe will officiate.
