

Joel grew up and was educated in Waterbury Connecticut. He relocated to his home in Georgia where he lived, worked and raised his family. He taught himself and learned the craft of residential property maintenance. He was so skilled in his profession that he attained the position of Maintenance Supervisor and was requested from all over to apply his skills. Joel loved all sports particularly basketball. Joel was a coach for our community basketball team the Clayton County Crunch. He attended every basketball game his daughter and grandson ever played in, some of which he had to be thrown out of by the referees. Joel had a passion and love for Family Feud, 2pac, playing pool and his dogs Champ and Sarge. He was a staunch protector and defender of his family, friends and homies.
Joel will be greatly missed by his wife Sheryl, daughters Tiffany “Skippy”, Ashley “Tadahead” and Shanel “Renee”. His grandchildren Jaylon “Road dog” and Skylar “Midget”. Preceding him in death are his sisters Penny Lott and Wendy Stith. Survived by his brother Derrick Stith and brother-in Law Steven Smith. His sisters Robin Stith, Gwendolyn Stith, Angela Stith, Dell Hayer (Mark) and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and all his family and friends.
Memorial Services honoring Joel’s life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Tara Garden Chapel – 681 North Avenue – Jonesboro, GA 30236. (770) 471-7171.
