Millicent M. Lewis

Millicent, also known as “Doris”, is the daughter of Gertel Glave and William Glave of Jamaica. She later moved to London, England in 1959. A previous resident of Chicago, Illinois and recently Dallas, Georgia Millicent received her registered Nursing degree from Chicago, Illinois; she worked as a nurse at Clark Manor Nursing Home in Chicago for over 40 years.

Millicent was a praying woman and had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Evanston, Illinois for more than 45 years, where she served on the Deaconess Board and later at Living Faith Tabernacle in Forest Park, Georgia.

She is survived by her children, David Lewis, Bloomington, IL; Elise Long, Dallas, GA; Pearl Lewis, Everett, WA; Donald Lewis, Morrow, GA. Three loving grandchildren, Curtis Bentley, Cameron Lewis, Kristian Lewis; 1 sister, Gwendolyn Waugh of Spanish Town, Jamaica along with nieces and nephews. Daughters-in-law, Cassandra Lewis, Cristina Bentley and Jocelyn Younger and Sons-in-law, Roger Long and Ezell Johnson. She will be sorely missed by close friends and family members.
