Sammy was born to the late Rachael and Roy Bond in East Point, Georgia. Sammy departed this life on October 4, 2012.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Bond, grandson Charles Wm. Pack (Little Sam) and granddaughter Shana Jean Yarbrough. He served in the United States Navy for twenty-two and a half years before retiring. He then went to work for Marta Transit where he also retired.
He leaves behind two daughters; Cynthia Henry and Mary J. Hancock both of East Point, GA; 3 grandchildren Deborah Brice of Stockbridge, GA, John Hanley of Barnesville, GA and Shawn Hanley of Hiram, GA; 5 great grandchildren, Andrew Odom, Joseph Pack, Cheyenne Yarbrough, Ethan Yarbrough, Rainey Pack; and 1 great-great grandchild, James Odom.
Sammy always felt his greatest accomplishment was his family.
