Anne Rizzi, born August 23, 1940, in the Bronx, New York, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and joy. A proud graduate of Our Lady of Victory, Anne carried the values of faith, community, and compassion throughout her life. She was married for 50 years to the love of her life, Robert D. Rizzi, with whom she built a life centered on family, partnership, and enduring devotion. Anne was actively involved in the Junior League and brought her entrepreneurial spirit to life as the owner of a tennis shop in Hastings known as The Racketeers. As a long time member at Sleepy Hollow Country Club, she created a deep love for sports, especially tennis and golf, and found great happiness both on the court and on the course with all the friends she made along the way. She was also a wonderful cook who found joy in preparing Sunday family dinners, a cherished tradition that continues to bring her family together.
Anne is survived by her three daughters, Kathryn O’Rourke (Brendan), Cheryl Barrett (Michael), and Elizabeth Hite (Andrew), as well as her beloved sister, Patsy Hottendorf. She was a proud and loving grandmother to her nine grandchildren: Colin O'Rourke (Michelle), Caroline O'Rourke, Scott O'Rourke, Stephanie Barrett Wellenbach (Eliott), Annie Barrett, Chrissy Barrett, Bobby Hite, Charlie Hite, and Riley Hite and was eagerly awaiting her first great grandchild in June. She will be remembered for her vibrant spirit and energy for life. She had a lifelong love for animals and was a devoted supporter of the ASPCA. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A private celebration of life will be held at Sleepy Hollow Country Club on May 8, 2026.
In lieu of food and flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in her honor to the ASPCA.
