Anthony J. D'Aria, Sr., born on February 28, 1926 in Manhattan, passed peacefully on February 18, 2014, surrounded by his family. Mr. D'Aria is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Marilyn Weinz D'Aria, and his four loving children: Scott W. Allen, Christopher J. Allen, Cynthia D'Aria, and Anthony D'Aria, Jr., as well as daughter-in-law, Andrea Proietti D'Aria.
After attending PS 12 and Christopher Columbus High School in the Bronx, Mr. D'Aria began his career as a plumbing apprentice under the tutelage of his father, Emil. He built D'Aria Plumbing and Heating into a city-wide success, installing plumbing in Co-Op City in the Bronx between 1968 - 1971. After retiring from the plumbing business, Mr. D'Aria was employed as an HVAC specialist for Pace University (NY), Yonkers Hospital (NY), the Westchester County (NY) Center, and Manhattanville College (NY).
In addition to his great love for his family, Mr. D'Aria had a special fondness for dogs, the Bronx, and the New York Yankees; a gift for story-telling; and a love of traveling, having traveled across most of America, Europe and the world with his wife and family.
