Arlene Marie Milone, 83, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Arlene lived a life defined by love, elegance, and unwavering dedication to her family and the many people she cherished. She had an extraordinary way of making every moment meaningful—whether through her warm conversation, her incredible cooking, or her thoughtful handwritten letters. She filled her family’s life with comfort, joy, and enduring strength.
Born on February 4, 1942, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Arlene was a cherished daughter of the late William and Concetta Cinotti. She grew up in a loving home surrounded by her devoted siblings-Norma, Alfonse, and William- as well as beloved extended family. Arlene attended St. Dominic Academy in Jersey City and later continued her education in Washington, D.C., earning an associate’s degree from Immaculata College. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Nursing in Teaneck, New Jersey, and devoted herself to a field that aligned beautifully with her compassionate and caring nature.
Arlene married the love of her life, Dr. Andrew S. Milone, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Jersey City, NJ, beginning a remarkable 62-year marriage that became legendary to all who knew them. Their commitment and affection were beautifully reflected in letters Arlene wrote to Andrew during the year before their marriage, when his military service kept them apart, a time in which written words carried the weight of their devotion and dreams for the future. This correspondence reflected the sincerity and promise of their commitment and revealed the foundation of a lifelong bond rooted in tenderness and trust.
As their life together began, Arlene and Andrew spent their first year of marriage in Fontenet, France, during Andrew’s military service with the United States Army Dental Corps. The couple then returned to New Jersey and built a beautiful life together in Glen Ridge while also spending treasured time in Sea Girt at the Jersey Shore. Arlene and Andrew raised three loving and principled children: Jeffrey, a respected periodontist, and twins Cynthia and Cheryl, dedicated attorneys. Arlene took great pride in the paths their children followed, accomplishments that reflected their family values of education, service, and dedication.
Arlene was a deeply devoted mother and grandmother whose love radiated through all chapters of her family’s life. She supported each activity and milestone, believing no event was too small. Her grandchildren looked forward to “pasta night at Grandma’s” and mornings with strawberries and whipped cream, rituals she made joyful and memorable. She treasured family traditions—Sunday dinners, beautifully planned holidays, and gatherings shared with her sister Norma, their brothers Alfonse and Bill, and Andrew’s siblings, Frank and Terry. Each gathering reflected her extraordinary ability to make every moment feel warm and full of love.
Arlene was also a dedicated member of the community. Her home radiated warmth, hospitality, and love—a place where people felt instantly at ease. She was an exceptional cook, celebrated for her Italian dishes that became the centerpiece of countless gatherings and holidays. Arlene lived actively and joyfully—playing tennis and golf at Glen Ridge and Eagle Oaks Country Clubs, where she also hosted many family celebrations. She nurtured her passion for travel, fashion, art, theater, and literature. Arlene also appreciated life’s simple luxuries, including a perfectly chilled glass of Chardonnay shared among family and friends.
Arlene’s life was also shaped by her strong Catholic faith. She and Andrew were active parishioners in each community they called home—worshiping at Sacred Heart in Bloomfield during their children’s early years, at St. Mark in Sea Girt during their time at the shore, and in recent years at St. Patrick in Palm Beach Gardens. Her faith provided her with strength, gratitude, and a deep sense of purpose, shaping the kindness and devotion she offered to everyone around her.
Arlene leaves behind a legacy of devotion, elegance, and love that was felt in every room she brightened, every tradition she created, and every hand she held. Her memory will live on in the family she cherished, the marriage that inspired all who witnessed it, and the countless moments of warmth and beauty she brought into the world. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
Arlene is survived by her beloved husband, Dr. Andrew Milone; her devoted children, Dr. Jeffrey Milone and his wife Dr. Linda Milone, Cheryl Milone, and Cynthia Rusis and her husband Armins Rusis; her cherished grandchildren, Jessica, Zachary and Jacob Milone; Jason and his wife Emily and Rebecca Bab; Alex, Andrew and Lilia Rusis; and her adored sister, Mrs. Norma Panico.
