Caroline Grupp

A beautiful soul went to Heaven on March 16, 2017 to be with her lord and savior Jesus Christ. Caroline was born on November 19, 1931 in Ozone Park, Queens, New York. She was 85 years young. Caroline was the first born child of Michael and Isabella Tufano. She was preceded in death by her oldest son Richard in 1983. Caroline is survived by her husband of 65 years, Richard (Dick) Grupp and five children: Linda Burton of Port St. Lucie, Michael Grupp of West Palm Beach, Elizabeth Howland of Stuart, Philip Grupp of Lake Mary and Jennifer Mayers of Huntsville, AL. Caroline is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Also survived by two sisters Jennie Desimone of Long Island, NY and Anita Muller of Deerfield Beach, FL.

The Grupp family moved from New York to Miami in 1959 and lived there for 38 years before moving to Hollywood, FL for 4 years and then to Tequesta, FL for 19 years where they lived in their condo at Little Club. One of the great passions of her life was being a member of the Gideon’s Auxiliary and having the opportunity of distributing God’s word in the form of Bibles and Testaments to nurses, patients, doctors, dentists and lawyers offices. She particularly enjoyed going to the South Florida Fair each January distributing testaments to the youth.

Second only to her love for her husband and family was her love for cruising. She dearly loved the ambiance of the cruise ships and the excitement of exploring the various ports of call. Caroline and Dick have gone on over a dozen cruises including Hawaii and Alaska. A highlight of their marriage took place in 2001 when their children sent them on a three week, nine country tour of Europe for their 50th Anniversary. Caroline got to tour Italy where her parents were born and she was thrilled by the experience. A Celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, March 21st at 11am at Living Oaks Church Of God, 14156 64th Drive N, Palm Beach Gardens, FL with Pastor Larry Richardson presiding.
