Born in Virginia and raised in Tampa, he earned a BS in Communications from Northwestern University and an MBA in International Business from the University of Miami. His career spanned public television, broadcast journalism, and higher education, including serving as science and media relations specialist at the University of Miami. He later founded Advancement Associates Inc., consulting for education, research, and healthcare organizations worldwide.
A lifelong sailor and lover of the sciences, Christopher enjoyed travel, the arts, fine dining, and caring for animals—especially rabbits and sea turtles—and was known for writing the best Christmas card letters of all time.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Karen Gayle Dudley and by his parents, Patricia Emory Dudley Keith and Grover C. Dudley.
He is survived by his partner, Theresa Biemer; his family in Florida, Maryland, and Pennsylvania and his dog, River, the last in a long line of Shelties.
Christopher will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and the way he made everyone he met feel at ease. A celebration of his life will be held later this year. In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Chris’ memory with a donation to MarineLife.org in support of sea turtle and ocean conservation.
