David graduated from Jackson High School. He went on to attend the University of Michigan, earning his Bachelors of Science in Industrial Engineering. He married Janet on December 22, 1956 and together they shared 64 years of marriage. He was employed as an engineer for General Motors-Buick for 30 years. David was a 1st lieutenant in the Army Ordinance Corps. He enjoyed golf, sailing and building models.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Tom Burnett.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Burnett; a daughter, Linda McDaniel; a son, Clinton Burnett (Reina) and four grandchildren, Jessica McDaniel, Zach McDaniel, Courtney Scott (Ian) and Kurt Burnett.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM at Howard-Quattlebaum Funeral Cremation and Event Center, 754 US Highway 1, North Palm Beach, FL 33408.
