Dennis C. Barbieri, 74, passed away on June 21 at the Jupiter Medical Center of West Palm Beach County, FL. Formerly of Little Falls, NJ, he was the son of the late Eleanor (Pettinelli) and the late Anthony Barbieri, a former mayor of the town.
Adept at numbers, Dennis was awarded his BA degree in accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Bright and gregarious, he enjoyed playing golf and was an avid fan of the NY Yankees. In 2009, Dennis retired from the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department where he was employed as a grant writer and then became a permanent resident of Palm Beach Gardens. Prior to his illness, he daily enjoyed a breakfast at Panera’s where he engaged in lively conversations with other guests.
A memorial Mass will be held at 8 AM on August 3 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church in Whiting, NJ.
A committal service for his cremains will follow at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Totowa. If you wish to remember him, enjoy a cup of coffee at Panera’s or make a memorial donation to St. Jude Research Hospital for Children; Memphis, Tennessee.
